A psychological horror
story about a nerdy but seemingly 'normal' technical writer, Kenneth (DESMOND
HARRINGTON), who has a secret fanatical crush on a female coworker named
Lisa. After coming across a company which makes lifelike sex dolls, he
takes a crack at satiating his desires by ordering a doll designed to
look just like her. The plan works beyond expectations. As he develops
a relationship with the doll—he dresses it up, cooks it dinner,
partakes in rough sadomasochistic sex—his relationship with the
real Lisa also begins with his newfound confidence. The problem, however:
as things with the real Lisa begin to blossom, things with the doll begin
to deteriorate. It's as though the doll has become jealous. Or perhaps
it's all in Kenneth's head? The line between reality and fantasy becomes
increasingly blurred as Kenneth sinks deeper and deeper into psychosis,
where his ultimate, twisted fantasy is not to have the doll become Lisa-like,
but rather to have Lisa become doll-like. Reviews:
