The year
is 1932 and the small village of Sam Kotr is ravaged by a girl possessed
by a liver-eating ghost named "Pob." The villagers band together
to trap her and hires an exorcist to contain her spirit in a jar sealed
with magical spells which they leave at the bottom of an old, dried well.
Reviews: Not since
Bio Zombie has there been a horror comedy quite this good. When it's funny,
you'll be roaring and rolling around on the ground with laughter, and
when it's scary, it's REALLY scary. The film is one of the most original
and entertaining Thai films since Tears of the Black Tiger (which the
mighty Disney has now bought). Body Jumper is a visually aesthetic, wildly
hilarious, thrill ride. The characters are lavish and colorful - ranging
from a 6-foot tall, wig-wearing, steroid-boosted transvestite named "Belle"
to a nerd who likes to show off his martial arts by punching nails into
wood. The special effects are VERY well done (probably the best we've
seen so far with any Thai film). Body Jumper features Hong Kong's style
of mo-lo-tau (nonsense) comedy with the Scream trilogy type of scares
you would expect from Wes Craven. This is one movie we'd have no problems
in recommending. Screening Times: Wednesday, November 19 at 7:00 pm
