Synopsis: The Koshien
Stadium (15 km west of Osaka), it is a dream and Mecca for high school
baseball players. They move around the grounds for life as long as their
energy continues; in order to grab the moment of glory to play there.
However, do you know another baseball, in which blood, sweat, and tears
are actually mixed, or rather exchanged? The name of the baseball is "evil
baseball"! Seido High School, whose team is led by Jubei Yakyu, punch-out
baseball warrior, faces Gedo High School. Bean balls and murderous slidings
are commonplace in Gedo. In a game between them, the baseball stadium
becomes full of blood, and an unprecedented battle breaks out with the
future of high school baseball players at stake! There is excessive comical
stage direction, deformed action, surreal jokes, and burning spirit at
the root. Man Gataro's legendary baseball comic that was serialized in
the Monthly Shonen Jump, popular comic magazine in Japan, is filmed by
Yudai Yamaguchi, new and powerful director. He was the second director
for "VERSUS" (The main director was Ryuhei Kitamura). With special
makeup, wire work, and CGI, Yamaguchi achieves the very difficult task
of expressing in an actual film what used to be possible only in the comic
world. This is his first film for screen. The reappearance of the battle
scene, which was performed by Taku Sakuguchi and Hideo Sakaki in "VERSUS",
is also something you cannot miss in this film. Reviews:
